CHARTER RELATING TO THE WELL BEING OF MODELS AND TALENT IN THEIR WORK ENVIRONMENT
Respect for diversity, human rights, gender equality, and the well being of models and talent (hereinafter referred to as “Models”) has always been part of the DNA of Elite Model Management Bratislava s.r.o. (hereinafter referred to as “Elite”).
In this context, Elite undertakes to ensure that all Models it represents not only benefit from working conditions that comply with applicable legal requirements, but are also treated by clients, partners, and in house employees with the utmost respect and professionalism, free from any form of discrimination or harassment.
Elite encourages all its clients and partners to adhere to this approach. The rules set out below provide an overview of the practices and standards that Elite is committed to upholding in all professional relationships.
DISCRIMINATION & HARASSMENT
Elite applies a zero tolerance policy with respect to any form of discrimination and/or harassment in the professional work environment.
If a Model is a victim or witness of discrimination, threats, sexual harassment and/or any other form of harassment, or any other wrongdoing in the course of their professional activity, the Model is requested to report it immediately to Elite, either through their agent or via the “HotLine” support cell (hotline@elitemodels.sk).
Any allegation of harassment, discrimination, or threats reported to Elite will be investigated seriously, promptly, thoroughly, and impartially.
HUMAN RIGHTS, DIVERSITY, GENDER EQUALITY
Elite makes every effort to respect and ensure respect for human rights and gender equality for all individuals, particularly in the workplace. Elite also actively promotes diversity.
These values are an integral part of the company’s culture and guide its commitment to preventing and combating any form of discrimination towards its Models.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Elite is committed to ensuring that the Models it makes available to clients and partners work at all times in a safe, healthy, and respectful professional environment.
Elite also ensures that each client and/or brand collaborating with its Models takes all reasonable and necessary measures, and obtains all required legal authorizations, in order to guarantee and maintain, at all times, the safety, health, compliance with applicable working hours and rest periods, and overall well being of Models during the performance of their modelling services.
In particular, Elite ensures that the following rules are observed:
- No one shall impose on Models any action or activity that could be dangerous, degrading, humiliating, or unprofessional;
- In the workplace, no person may be under the influence or in possession of drugs or alcohol;
- No person may force Models to follow a diet or to lose weight in a manner that could endanger their health or safety;
- Situations in which a person is alone with a Model should be avoided as much as possible.
EDUCATION
School education being of paramount importance, Elite ensures that Models receive an appropriate education and makes every effort to reconcile school education, training, and work.
DECENT IMAGES
All images and/or videos in which a Model may appear nude, partially nude, in transparent clothing, swimwear, lingerie, and/or wearing fur require the prior express written consent of Elite.
Furthermore, all images must highlight the Model and must not place them in a situation that could be prejudicial. Images may not be used to illustrate illicit or immoral content, and Models must not be photographed in degrading and/or humiliating positions.
MEASUREMENTS
Prior authorization from the Model must be obtained before taking measurements. Measurements must be taken in a manner that avoids any unnecessary physical contact.
Where possible, it is requested that measurements of a male or female Model be taken by a person of the same gender.
NUTRITION
In order to provide appropriate nutritional support to Models who express the need, Elite provides information sheets and nutritional advice, particularly during busy work periods.
WORK-RELATED STRESS
Work related stress may have an impact on the health of Models. Elite’s prevention approach focuses on reducing sources of stress by acting on organization, working conditions, and social relations.
Elite promotes a structured work rhythm and encourages Models to adopt anti stress practices throughout the day and year, including:
- physical exercise,
- a balanced diet and adequate hydration,
- a healthy professional/personal balance,
- proper sleep management,
- calm and controlled breathing,
- regular disconnection from anxiety inducing content and notifications.
Elite recognizes the importance of human and social connections and remains attentive to maintaining them. Elite is committed to reconciling the professional and personal demands placed on Models and actively works to prevent psychosocial risks. Elite undertakes to inform, assist, analyse, and, where appropriate, guide Models towards qualified specialists (attending physicians, occupational medicine, psychiatrists, psychologists, etc.).
ASSEMBLY
Images and/or videos of Models may not be altered or distorted beyond what is required for reasonable and customary editing.
BACKSTAGE
Images of Models may not be captured backstage without prior written authorization from Elite or the Model.
Where backstage footage is authorized, it may not, under any circumstances, be captured:
- while a Model is nude and/or changing clothes,
- before hair and makeup are completed, or
- during any moment of privacy or intimacy.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Confidential information relating to Models and the terms of their contracts may not be disclosed without prior written consent, except where disclosure is necessary to fulfil the client’s and brand’s contractual obligations to Elite.
MODELS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REPORT ANY BEHAVIOUR THAT THEY REASONABLY BELIEVE IS CONTRARY TO ELITE’S ETHICAL AND/OR PROFESSIONAL PRINCIPLES, EVEN IF NOT SPECIFICALLY LISTED ABOVE.
